All of the kids were surprised & super-excited to open these up Christmas morning. The nephews quickly sorted out how to assemble the scope, there's not that much to it really. It packs up into the included backpack nicely and looks rugged, hopefully it will hold up under their exploring hands. Our first night we just spent looking up at the sky, looking at Orion, Polaris,& Mars. We were lucky to have caught a more-or-less moonless night, and it was clear for a while. After about 8:30, clouds started to sidle in so we packed up quickly & went back indoors. We're looking for a fun year ahead as we look to the sky. You can see the moon though and shows a good picture of that.
