It is not even 2x. Maybe 1.5x. Twisting it out to full extension almost gets to 1.5x. Does it make the text bigger, yes. 5 times bigger? Not even close. Going back the same day I got it. See photo. Line under glass is 1/2". Measured above glass - 5/8". This is measured without the extension. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars False advertising! While the lights are great (and automatic once you flip the switch on the inside... after that when you close it down, they go off) but the magnification is 1.5-2.5 at best. No where *NEAR* 30 let alone 60. At best this could be used as a 'reading assistant magnifier' but not at all for what I needed/ordered it for, which was to inspect circuit boards. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 and not a 1 is because the quality does seem excellent and it even comes with a case.
