Review: Love!!! - I don’t take large purchases lightly. I own a handheld steamer that works well- but it is a lot of work to use. I wanted something industrial that would do the work for me. I am addicted to buying beautiful clothes- but with that curse they often wrinkle easily and I hardly wear them. This has changed that!!! I researched for a good week with chatgpt. What I learned was that (for me) the steam power was the most important specification and this is what sets the Jiffy J4000 a part from its competitors. I learned that my handheld one had a power of about 25g/min and so I knew I wanted something much stronger. Most other models run 30-40g/min. This model runs from 50-60g/min. It is more powerful and efficient than most other products. I received the product yesterday and I was ecstatic! It does take 15 min to warm up but then I pressed 4 outfits in the next 5 minutes. I also pressed a thick blazer collar that had been folding the wrong way. My only wish was that the rack was higher or adjustable for long pants (my inseam is 34-36) and doing the bottom of pants and dresses was difficult — but I plan on buying a steam board to mount and help with this. Overall- it’s a huge win for me and will honestly change my life in that I am no longer limited in what articles of clothing I can wear.

**Q: I have a twenty year old Jiffy steamer with the water bottle that I would like to update to a newer model.  Do you need to remove the hose before emptying the base and is the base heavy on this model?**
A: The base is heavy, yes. I don't know about the hose but I believe you don't need to remove it. I would recommend getting the smaller jiffy steamer with the plastic water container instead of this. This one is not much more powerful and very cumbersome.

**Q: How long can you leave the steamer in the Standby mode?**
A: As long as you need to.

**Q: Jiffy: is there a pant crease attachment available?**
A: Steam handle, and slow steaming

**Q: Why is there a big price difference on amazon and the actual jiffy website?**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Alternative Use -- Window Restoration

I'm a homeowner who purchased this steamer for a reduced price through Amazon's warehouse deals while looking for a way to repair the windows to my 110-year old home. The old broken / cracked and very hard putty (called glazing) that holds each piece of glass in place on a window sash can be softened with steam for easy removal. The Jiffy steamer has been touted on the web by restoration specialists as the tired and true tool to use for this application. I did my first sash last weekend, removing 6 lites from a single sash, and the steamer worked like a charm. The steamer made what previously seemed like an impossible job not only doable, but easy. I'm went the extra mile on this window and steamed the paint off the inside of the same sash (a much more labor intensive process) and that's working well too. The steamer will pay for itself very shortly, and I'm looking forward to finding additional uses for it. The J-4000 steamer does take a little time to heat up, but the steam it produces is strong and plentiful. The spitting that occurs (mentioned in other reviews) is a result of the steam condensing and collecting in the loops of the hose as you work, and is easily controlled by lifting the handle to straightening the hose out every so often to let the collected water drain back into the tank.
