    Best for replacing one gang with two.

If you want to replace a one gang box with two outlets or switches, this is definitely the best box I've found!  Look at the side of this and compare it to the bright blue ones.  You'll see that the side of this is squared off compared to the blue ones that are stepped down.  When I took out the old single gang box, cut the hole in the sheet rock to fit in the double box I tried a blue one.  The original wire (still stapled to the wall, didn't extend far enough into the blue box to allow some of the romex sheathing to extend into the box (code calls for this).  This beautiful box had the same shape as the original so when I put it in the wall, the old wire extended into the box exactly like the old one!  problem solved.

I needed a deep 2 gang old work box for an outlet with LED dimmer switches.  This unit is perfect. The design of the inlets provides this extra room without increasing the dimension of the overall box.  The wall is 3/4 inch plywood and 3/8 inch drywall so the metal flip clips worked perfectly. This gives plenty or air space between the wiring and caps and switches. This aligns with the information provided for my pre-purchase question.  Thanks.

Very well made and durable. Bought as a housing for a doorbell transformer and mount for an electric doorbell. Works perfectly. Bit pricey, but happy with the purchase and would buy again.
