It is packaged in a protective plastic sleeve which normally I hate but the manufacturer has really thought about it and made sure it is biodegradable! In fairness some sort of sleeve is necessary to protect it in storage so I’m glad they have considered the environment! The Toncho comes in a mesh carry case which really packs down well, I measured it and it comes out at 8cm in diameter by 18cm in length which is pretty much the same size as a rolled up t-shirt. For what is essentially two microfibre towels this is impressive. It is really light and I barely notice the weight in my rucksack. The mesh case seems robust enough but only time will tell.UsageI’ve been put off buying a traditional poncho towel for some time due to the bulky-ness of it so I was relieved when I came across a microfibre one. I took it surfing with me and for once I could change into my wetsuit without having to worry about exposing myself to the whole beach! It made drying off and changing into dry cloths hassle free. The coloured stitching on the Toncho is a nice touch and the stitching itself seems to be up to the job. The hood helped keep the wind off my wet hair.WashingI put the towel in the wash with my other beach cloths without thinking but thankfully the colours didn’t run. I’ve had cheaper “microfibre towels” in the past that have lost their colour on the first wash. The towel dried really quickly and didn’t show any signs of shrinking.DownsidesThere only seems to by the “Capri” blue colour which is common amongst a lot of microfibre towels. It would be nice to see some other colours in the range. In hindsight I would have chosen a different colour as the pale turquoise one I bought make me look like a character from the BBC's "dinner ladies" according to my family!
