I have a recessed machine and a large, flat surface to sew on but it still didn't do well.The center pieces that jut into the template move up and down and get caught on the ruler foot on my machine and trip it up or stick it. You can not hold them down, and move the fabric and template at the same time.I did not feel it was as good as I was led to believe. I really wanted this to work too. I have nicked the ruler a little but overall I have been able to remain in the track. I love the results on my quilt.
