I knew I’d be taking pics on mountainsides, in the surf, in rainforests, etc., while I was in Costa Rica and knew I might never see my phone again if I dropped it. Luckily it happened while on flat ground (no damage to the phone from 4’ onto a pretty Sandy surface). I didn’t expect much for the price, but I did expect the lanyard to withstand a drop the length of the handle while I was wearing it. I’d return it, but I won’t be back from CR in time, and I was able to use the strings provided to make a new lanyard that so far seems much sturdier. Like me, it may not be purdy, but it works!I never intended to use it under water and after receiving it I feel that was the right call. The seal seems to close well, but it only took a light fingernail pressed against the seam to separate the pieces. But I still rated water resistance 3 since I didn’t have any issues with the case getting splashed while I was walking in the surf.
