Use with a portable power pack with 5V2.0A. When you connect your power pack, press and hold the power button on the vest and it lights up red first which is the hottest setting and then after about 5 minutes it cools down to blue which is medium heat and you can then scroll through the settings from green (lowest setting) to red. The more mAH in the power packs, then the longer they will last.
