Review: Great feed, a little expensive - Overall great and as expected. Hens enjoy it and lay frequently. I did need to add some oyster shell as they started to have very thin fragile eggs but all is good now. Some bags do have a good amount of powder in it as well but sometimes I add a little water to make the most of it.

**Q: I see its distributor is in the USA, but where do the ingredients come from and where is it manufactured?**
A: We are based in Waynesboro, VA and Lubbock, TX and we buy USDA Organic Grains from farms in the surrounding states. We do not import organic grains from overseas. We are committed to only sourcing North American grains and they must be USDA Organic Certified. I hope that helps!

**Q: Can the seeds/grains sprout?**
A: No, these seeds have been cracked through a roller mill and wont sprout.  You should try our unmilled version of our layer feed for that.  It is not currently offered on the Amazon marketplace

**Q: This product, which is organic, includes a synthetic vit k supplement.......menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfite.  why is this?????**
A: Great question! For our products to be considered a complete feed, they must contain the proper vitamins and minerals needed to meet recommended dietary allowances (RDAs). Since there are currently no organic livestock vitamin k supplements on the market, the use of this product is approved under the National Organic Program ruling 205.600 and 205.603, specifically. A: Absolutely! Many of our customers ferment our feeds prior to feeding. I hope that helps!

I have raised my birds since they were chicks on New Country from Starter and Grower feed to this Layer feed. It's easy to ferment and the girls love that, but they also really enjoy it unfermented as well. I chose corn free due to being in very HOT Texas and only supplement cracked corn when the weather gets in the mid-thirties and under, which is not very often. They hit the grower stage in November and seemed to need supplemental protein even on the grower formula, but that may be due to the cold and filling out the rest of their feathering all at the same time. When I started them on this Layer feed they were really excited about it. Opening the bag it looked great, very clean and dry with a good smell. The girls don't seem to need as much of it either now that they finished out their initial growth spurt. This really is a great brand and worth the price for happy, disease-free birds, who love to bounce around and play.
