Review: Awesome placemat! - I've been using this placemat for a few months now and I still love it. It doesn't suction to the table but it does stick to the table so it doesn't slide around. My little one can pull it up but I already expected that because nothing really suctions well enough to stand up to a determined baby. I do love the food catching tray that hangs over the edge of the table. It works perfectly to keep almost all of his dropped food from landing on the floor. It's great for minimizing messes in restaurants and keeping his food off of dirty tables. It rolls up and folds easily so it fits in the diaper bag and it's super easy to clean. I would recommend this to every parent with a baby learning to feed themselves.

**Q: Does this attach / stick to a plastic covering that’s placed on a table?**
A: I’m not sure what you mean about a plastic covering. If you mean like a table cloth I would say no it won’t. It needs a flat smooth surface. It won’t stick to wood either.

**Q: Would this attach good to a laminate countertop we have bar stools up at our counter and my son makes a huge mess of the floor this would be perfect?**
A: I would think so! It attaches very securely to our granite top. As long as the surface is clean and dry I don’t see why it wouldn’t.

**Q: My toddler can easily pick this off table.....why?**
A: Yes. My experience as well. Didn’t work very well for me either. I tried multiple flat surfaces.

**Q: Would this work under a hook on high chair that doesn't come with a tray?**
A: No, needs a hard surface to lay on. It’s like silicone.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great way to keep mess contained for little ones

We got this placemat because we needed a way to keep the food that doesn't make it into our toddler's mouth off the table as much as we could. This has been a really nice addition to mealtime...while he still manages to get food on other areas of the table and floor, this has really reduced the amount of cleanup we are doing. At the end of mealtime, we're able to roll it up and clean it off or put it in the dishwasher. Our table is finished wood so the suction isn't great, but it stays well enough and when we put his plate on it, it holds up a little more. We placed on our granite countertop for comparison and it does stick just fine there, just FYI. The food catcher hangs a little low instead of straight out, but that doesn't bother us too much...it actually works pretty nicely in keeping some of the food off his lap and catches it before it hits the floor! If the suctioning was more secure on our table, I'd give 5 stars. Overall, though, I would recommend given the size and ease of cleanup, even with the moderate suctioning on our table.
