The bridge is plastic, a much more typical construction. Also, the bridge's thick plastic top-piece actually interferes with mounting the clip-ons; the sunglasses will fit higher than normal [unless you trim back the plastic a bit, which is easy to do].Secondly, the flip up/down function was weak on one of the clip-ons I received. The sunglasses didn't "snap" down--they had to be guided down with constant pressure.
