Review: Would give it 6 stars - I forgot how awesome my old woobie (pet name we had for the poncho liner in the service), but now that I have this one again I'm reminded of why these were one of our most coveted issued items. Other than the obvious, warmth, the poncho liner is very versatile. If you're a hiker or camper you're like me and probably like to pack things that have multiple uses to conserve space in your pack and just as important, to save weight. The poncho liner in conjunction with your poncho can make the difference between a cold and wet hike and a warm, comfortable and dry hike. Though it doesn't fold down particularly small it IS smaller than another sleeping bag and when used inside a lightweight bag it has kept me toasty warm down into the low 20's at night. This poncho liner is wider and longer than most of the other liners I've seen on desertcart and when spread out it was big enough to cover both my wife and I on a queen size air mattress with a foot to spare on both sides and its length was plenty long, even for some like myself (I'm 6'3"). Versatility and multi-use is the name of the game when choosing items to go in your pack, whether it's for a 3-day hike or for your bug out bag, this woobie is great. It's also a perfect item to keep in your vehicle in case you get stranded, it'll keep you warm and comfortable while you wait for the tow truck. Online you can find many other uses for the poncho and poncho liner. Combine your liner with the actual poncho and you've got an excellent makeshift waterproof sleeping bag, a tent and blanket, or a lean-to and blanket in case your out on a hike and the weather turns bad on you and you have to hunker down and wait it out. There's a reason the poncho and liner is used and taught in military outdoor survival schools. The edges are reinforced and the rip stop nylon can take a beating but it is soft enough to cuddle with on the couch, as a matter of fact my 8 year old routinely grabs mine to watch TV under when it's a little chilly and he has even figured out how to use the ties on the edges (meant for attaching it to the poncho or tying it together to use as a sleeping bag) to make a killer blanket fort, and we all know how important THOSE are! To sum it up, this woobie is top notch, top of the line design and materials, and the price is very affordable, especially considering all the uses it has. I have purchased a few more for my boys to use on Boy Scout campouts and I also got one for a buddy who is a veteran as well for his birthday. He swears it's the best birthday gift he's received since the Nintendo he got for his 10th birthday. You just can't go wrong with this one, from a guy who has used this product from combat in Afganistan to camping out with my Boy Scouts, I recommend this poncho liner to everyone. Definitely 5 stars!!!
Review: A Great Part of a Camping Sleep System! - I bought this as a companion for my USGI Industries poncho. I told my wife I had always wanted a "woobie," and she asked what I needed it for. I explained that she wasn't listening...I said I had always WANTED one, not that I NEEDED one! With her blessing, I purchased the USGI poncho liner. While I wouldn't want this to be my only blanket in very cold weather, I found that it was very warm for its size and thickness. I have only used it in the house on chilly nights, and I was happy at how good it was at insulating and keeping in my body heat. I paired it with my poncho, and they fit together perfectly. I can see how the woobie and poncho would make an effective combination for emergency heat retention or camping. Now that Spring is upon us, I plan to use my USGI woobie as my main blanket the next time I go camping. The quality of the material and its construction are both very good, and I found no loose threads. It's very easy to pair with the poncho, which would make the system water proof. It also packs down nice and compact into the included stuff sack. All-in-all, I am very happy with the purchase, and I can't wait to take it camping in the coming weeks.

**Q: Is this an actual usgi poncho liner?**
A: For allf future purchasers; No, This is not a real USGI poncho liner. The seller/producer is named USGI. What commenters fail to realize is that has nothing to do with actual government issue items.
A REAL poncho liner. An issued liner, is made from by  formerly "Winston Salem Industries for the Blind", now IFB Solutions. This is the single manufacturer for every government issued liner to exist. All others are knock offs or copy cats. They can all add an NSN to their tag, but that does not mean they are what all soldiers refer to as a woobie or poncho liner. There is only one. This is not it.

**Q: Is this liner made in China?**
A: HUGE sewn tag says "MADE IN CHINA" (in all caps).  It seems well-made, but it's not what I expected.  I gave it to my dogs.

**Q: Where is this made?**
A: The label only gives cleaning instructions and other helpful instructions for its use.  IT DOES NOT STATE where the poncho was made.  You might go to USGI INDUSTRIES website to contact them via email to get an answer. (It's a well-made woobie; excellent stitching and the tie downs follow the same pattern as my old Vietnam-era liner.) I'm happy with it, regardless of country manufacturer.

**Q: What is the R -rating ?**
A: I slept outside on new years eve with my 10 year old on top of a snow bank. I put the liner inside the 40 degree sleeping bag and was warm all night. With a ground cloth, sleeping pad to keep off the ice, the two layers was perfect. It was about 20 degrees that night and freezing rain the next morning.
The nylon isn’t milspec “woobie” material, but it is decent.

A bunch of my buddies served in the military and used to talk about these blankets. Turns out that they are actually pretty awesome. This is now my favorite blanket and I use it every night. Its great for roadtrips, camping, hunting, everything. There is almost always a good reason to bring one of the blankets with you. Doesnt really matter where you're going. Warm, lightweight, durable fabrics and nice seams, soft to the skin, breathable, no shedding, water resistance can be reapplied with a spray, but only if used outdoors. Not the best for rain or anything, but great for staying warm outdoors. Nice thickness. Doesn't seem to stain or retain too much odor. I legit love this blanket and plan on ordering more. Seems worth it to throw one of these into each of our cars for emergencies.
