The machines are lightly used at home being powered on no more than an hour per day. None have lasted more than three years, and some have crapped out after barely two years. I would change out to some other system, but I went all in on Flojet and used them in custom installations in custom built cabinetry and to replace them would involve rebuilding cabinets and counter tops. This particular one last just 3 weeks before it started pulsing continually when turned on, even though there was no draw on the pump or call for water. At least I could return this one for a replacement, which, knock on wood, is still working after a month. Woo-hoo! There are not a lot of other systems out there, but I would look around and find something else if I had it to do over again. As a side note, the company has finally made just the wand that goes in the bottle available. That seems to be the part that fails (the magnetic shut off float switch on the end). So now I only have to spend $40-50 to fix it rather than throw out the pump too and buy an all new system. This system has proven to me, over and over again, that it is not be reliable in the long run. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best yet! *by C***. on December 5, 2016* I'm in the coffee business and I've been buying flojets for many years. This new model is by far the best yet. The wand that goes in the bottle is now detachable from the motor. If for some reason it breaks you can just replace the wand. On the older 1000 series if you broke the wand you had to buy a whole new flojet. The power cord is also quite a bit longer than the old model which helps with placement.Update 9-6-19These are still working great. Have been turned on and in use since December 2016. Just here because I need another one! ### ⭐ Chemical smell and taste *by B***E on April 14, 2017* I would have given this product five stars because it functions as I hoped it would. The problem is that it adds a chemical, plastic like smell and taste to the water. I did not mention my concern to my husband and just waited for his response. He said the water tastes funny after he drank it. We checked the taste of the bottled water to make sure, but the fault is not with the water. If the water turns chemically tasting, by running through the pump system, does that mean chemicals from the product materials are leaching into the water? I saw only two other reviews that mention the taste. One customer said, it still tasted funny 3 months and 65 gallons later.
