Within the first week of taking just two pills per day, one before breakfast andone before dinner, the swelling in my ankles totally disappeared....and my legs look totally normal.....that didn'teven happen when I was given a diuretic which made me dehydrated, thirsty, lowered my sodium on bloodtests so low that it was below normal..I was on a low sodium diet for so long that every time I ate any sodiumat all, my ankles swelled so I was given many different diuretics....I knew there had to be a natural supplementthat helped me but I never thought in a million years it would be any form of berberine......Since my ankleswelling is gone, I've gone back to using some sodium again and my ankles with this berberine aren'tswelling at all and my B/P didn't go up again.........It's absolutely amazing...I feel NORMAL..The drugs were making me ill.... A few days after I started this supplement, I was at my doctor's office having my blood pressure taken. This seems to be a quality supplement and appears to be working as well as more well known brand name berberine supplements I have used. I was familiar with quercetin but had never heard of Jiaogulan before. I did my research and found out Jiaogulan is also helpful for keeping blood sugar levels stable. Before writing this review I went on to research the difference between Berberine and Berberine HCI. I must say I was a bit disappointed as Berberine is the natural compound but the Berberine HCI is chemically formulated. As it turns out it can cause some toxicity to lungs and liver overtime (long term) due to increases in ALT and AST.
