Review: Francis cb antenna - On the package it says to use 18ft of rg58 coax. I used 12 to 15ft of double shielded mookref, and a 3in spring. I ended up with a 1.1 to 1 to 1 match on the cb 40channels. 1.3 on the 40 below, and 1 to 1 on the 40 above. Honestly this is the best performing fiberglass antenna this size, or taller. I bought a second as a spare! On a good day, with elevation, i have talked to Saratoga ny from wells vt with this antenna paired with my Lincoln 2+. On ssb of course Great small antenna!!

**Q: What is the range for a 4 watt cb radio in a truck?**
A: Depends on how clean that frequency (channel) is and how well tuned your radio is. I can reach over 5 miles in certain open areas, sometimes more. This is a good antenna.

**Q: Can this antenna be set up as a base antenna by your home? If so how?**
A: Agree with Tom. This would make a poor base antenna. The Antron 99 is what I run at home and was well worth the money.I have talked skip all over the country with only a 100 watt set up.

**Q: Is this the baby sister, to the old Francis Amazer?**
A: yes that is the longest Francis Amazer you can get now. I could not find the original length one any where. This one does work pretty good though.

**Q: francis,5by5 is to much money,,u can buy at truck stop for 21,00$ or less**
A: No about the same price if you need it now get it at the truck stop or just wait a few day that up to you
