They are sturdy & easy to use.A few customizations:*I add one layer of unbleached napkin to bottom of white tray for seeds to attach to + retain moisture (helpful in their 1st few fragile attachment days).*I live in pacific NW and mold is a bigger problem with sprouts, generally, than over-drying. So in the 1st week, I run kitchen faucet water over each segment of white tray, tip to drain extra water out, then set white tray inside green holder (as a drip tray) with lid set atop SIDEWAYS, and a dark kitchen towel over all. This allows sprouts breathing room (mold prevention) and darkness (root growth focus). When sprouts are anchored, yellow-green, and almost an inch tall I remove lid + towel and set in windowsill. I use the same watering method the whole time, though.If dome lid were opaque black instead of clear I’d drill multiple holes and dispense of the towel. (I knocked 1 star off for that.)I harvest around weeks 2-3 and the entire root mat pulls out easily and cleaning the trays between use is easy- peasy. I also like how they nest upon stacking so it’s not a space hog in the cabinet. And while it doesn’t exactly match my kitchen, the green —> growing green food works OK. The trays are all also lightweight (without being brittle or fragile)... but I’m sure this is handwash only (bottle brush recommended). This is where the holes being not overly tiny is handy.I use Easy Sprouters for actual sprouts (alfalfa, clover) and these for microgreens (wheat, pea).Photos show 1/2 cup of grocery store wheat I harvested around the end of week 2. I harvest, freeze it & then blend into my daily smoothie (thanks VitaMix!). I’m slowly ratcheting up how much I add. I’ll probably never throw back shots of it, but if it really is that healthy, even just a little (currently 3 gram/ day) is better than nothing. Chlorophyll = healthy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very successful microgreens crop! *by S***. on Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2021* I used the paper sheets that come with the boxes in the bottom, then added a fiber layer on top, after soaking it in distilled water. Fiber layer bought separately, also from amazon (not expensive). There are lots of microgreen seeds available and the size of the seed should determine how thick your seed covering is on the fiber. I used TrueLeaf brand of microgreens seeds. I sprinkled the seeds onto the fiber layer and sprayed them with distilled water twice a day. I kept the lids on the boxes until the greens were too tall to stand up straight with the lid in place. Follow the planting directions with the box and it works! We ate clipped microgreens out of the box, but with the water just sitting, it will mold if you do not just harvest them. I could have had too much moisture in the fiber layer, or could have left the covers on too long. Just roll up the fiber layer in the paper to dispose of it. I used light dishwashing soap and water to clean them. I did not put them in the dishwasher. I may also forgo the distilled water next time, but apparently pH of the water can be important. I did all 5 trays with 1 gallon of distilled water. These trays were easy to use, and very reasonably priced. The greens/reds were a great addition to our daily salads and are still fresh in the refrigerator.
