I just finished reading it to the students in my classroom (I teach K-6 resource students. Kids that need specialized instruction). I had a mixed group of about 10 kids ranging from age 5-11 in the room and every one of them was riveted. Seuss had them spellbound. Some of them are English language learners too. How does he do it? How do these kids even know what is happening with so many nonsense words put in? It has a positive message of being grateful for the life that you have which is a plus. I have a 3 month old son and he loves looking at the pictures.
