### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Low maintenance tyres at last

*by E***S on 27 October 2016*

Doing 60 mile per week commute these tyres are perfect for my reliable low maintenance single speed road bike.My one tip if trying these is to press the chosen clip into the rim then extracting with pliers in order to check suitability.

### ⭐⭐ Tannus Tyres revieved after 3 months use.

*by S***N on 15 July 2016*

I bought a set of Tannus Aither 1.1 to fit on my Trek Domane 5.9 road bike. Living in north Oxfordshire, where the road surface is to say the least, disgraceful, I went for the softer option of tyre that was equal to around 90 psi.The installation of the tyres was a good workout, but I had them both fitted in around an hour and a half. I fitted the tyres in the first week of April, when the temperature was still around freezing at 07.00, when I cycled to work the 13 miles. Why is this relevant? because the tyres are so hard... The initial impression of the ride was HARSH, very harsh indeed. My bike displayed rattles it had never had before, and the vibration discomfort on my wrists and hands was unpleasant to say the least. I spoke to the suppliers about this, and they said to give them a while to bed in and they will be fine. I kept the tyres of for 3 months, and thought that I'd give them the benefit of the doubt, but by last night, I'd had enough of the uncomfortable ride, and the uncertainty of the grip the tyres gave. I was never 100% committed to cornering with the Tannus tyres, as they just seemed to feel unstable on corners and uneven road surfaces. Sitting on nearly £4000 worth of bike, it was not the time to test them out with a good lean round a bend that was damp!Maybe, in London where the roads are probably better than they are in the countryside, the tyres are OK, but for what you gain by not having a puncture, you certainly loose by having a very uncomfortable and sometimes scary ride out on your bike.Needless to say the ride in to work today with my trusty Schwalbe Durano Plus tyres refitted to my wheels, was quiet, surefooted and comfortable.Would I tell someone to buy a set of Tannus Tyres? it would depend on where they lived, and what they used their bike for, I don't think they are the right things for carbon framed road bikes.

### ⭐ Is the grip really good enough?

*by J***Y on 21 August 2018*

Bought mine about 4 weeks ago I do 25 miles a week so am at about 100 miles.Ride comfort is okayPuncture resistance great - they feel indestructible.Speed is fine for commuting.Fitting the first tire is tricky, although watching a video helps. It probably took an hour (and two cups of tea) to fit both tires to my single speed mango. The big issue for me is grip. I fell off this morning going slowly round a corner in wet conditions, on a section of road I've traveled 100s of times with regular tires in the wet (and 10s of times on Tannus in the dry)Using these tires I would avoid riding on these surfaces (especially in wet conditions) ...- Grass- Painted lines- Cobbles- Turning on non-tarmac surfacesI've read that the tires have "amazing grip" in reviews on other sites, I just don't believe it, I think the grip is poor in comparison to my continental gatorskins.
