I picked up one of the books -- don't remember which one -- and I was hooked. While some have accused Dorothy L. Sayers of writing a Mary Sue (a story or book where the author is almost exactly like the main female character) & that Lord Peter is simply too good to be true (he does EVERYTHING well), I still enjoyed the books immensely. The short stories were interesting and kept me on my toes.
