My wife wanted to go on a cruise out of Florida and the only way to get there in reasonable time was to fly. My standard answer in these situations has been to say, you fly, I'll drive and meet you there and then we don't end up going. But this time I said to her go ahead and book the cruise, now I had to figure out how on earth I was going to get on a plane. I started looking for books and CD's about overcoming the fear of flying, I came across Glenn Harrold's CD on Amazon, the price was very reasonable compared to the cost of other programs I found online, so I ordered it.To give myself enough of time before the flight, and since it had been so long since my last flight, I started listening to the CD every night alternating the two tracks like it tells you to do, five weeks before we were leaving. I was still feeling nervous leading up to the week of the flight and wondering how I was going to do this. About 4 days before we were leaving and while I was listening to the CD, a sudden calm came over me and I never looked back. I got on the plane and flew with no problems at all, my wife said afterwards she was the one nervous that I would freak out or something. On the return trip the same thing, no problems, during take off we were having a normal conversation.I would highly recommend this CD. It is great how Mr. Harrold takes you in the first track step by step through the process of packing, driving to the airport, being in the terminal, getting on the plane and flying. By the time you are actually ready to fly, it is as though you have already done it dozens of times. The second track is all about relaxation and feeling calm. I'm happy and my wife is happy, now we can plan trips and vacations to places I never thought I would see before...unless I was able to drive there. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was amazed!! *by T***L on January 2, 2012* Let me begin by saying I had flown many years ago with no issues but in my 30's had developed an extreme fear of flying. It became the thing I was most afraid of. My fiance (my now husband) and I were going on our honeymoon to Sandals resort in Jamaica. A month before the flight I was having severe anxiety over the flight and honestly didn't know if I could get on the plane. We had to end up cancelling our trip (which we lost a ton of $$ on) and taking a honeymoon somewhere we could drive. Obviously this was a big issue. I loved to travel..yet too terrified to fly. Well in October we got a great deal on a trip to Beverly Hills in California. I was determined to get over my fear and go! I did research and bought this cd online. I didn't have a lot of hope but I was willing to try anything. The dr had given me meds for the flight but I really didn't want to take them. About 2 weeks before my flight I listened to this cd every single night. He takes you through the whole process of the morning of your flight which I think helped a lot. It came time to fly and we were up at 6am. Normally, I would not have slept a wink but I slept well and wasn't terrified. We got to the airport and although I had a little bit of anxiety..I was able to get on the plane and not have a freak out or cry (which I had done the crying before!). After the first take off, all was well. I never had to take my medications and all in all, there were 4 flights and I did well on each. I'm not going to say I love flying but now I feel like I have my life back and can start to travel again and not worry about the flying issue. This is a small amount of money to pay for what I felt I got in return. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bought it for my wife *by C***Y on June 25, 2007* We've got a vacation coming up and we're going to fly. She is not a fan of this plan so I got this CD for her. I listened to it and it seems to do a good job of presenting a soothing message. She is listening to it nightly before going to sleep and it seems to be helping--she definitely has less anxiety about the upcoming flight.If you don't read about the plane to Corpus Christi being delayed because a woman went crazy (marge simpson-style up and down the aisle), then it must have worked.Don't expect a silver bullet, though. If you have a genuine fear of flying, you're going to have to commit to facing your fears.
