This one has a thick spine, but a narrow grip profile. The polymer sheath has a lock feature that takes a moment to get used to. Not the lever portion, but the slight back pressure to release the blade from the sheath. This means that the knife is practically impossible to fall out of the sheath when locked and very resistant to falling out when unlocked. It is a beautifully conceived sheath security feature. This means you can carry it tip up, if you had it attached to a pack strap or a molle vest. The only downside for me is that the scales are fairly thin and I have very large hands, so it is not as comfortable. I may make some thick scales out of micarta to swap out for comfort. This means I will have to make a leather sheath, because the included sheath os not designed for thicker scales. I will try it and see if it works better for me. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars High quality knife from Fällkniven *by N***. on Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2020* Compared the Fällkniven A, S, and F lines, and settled on the F because of the smaller size but had trouble deciding between the F1 Pro and F1x. Ultimately went with the F1x because of the full tang and option to replace handle scales. (If I’d be holding this knife for hours at a time or regularly use it in freezing temperatures, I’d look at the Pro line, but even after days of use at camp I have no issues with the handle) The checkered scales are grippy. I thought at first that I’d take some fine grit sandpaper to them to smooth them down but I like the grippiness. One note: I ever have new handle scales made/3D printed that were “fatter,“ the knife would have a hard time fitting into the supplied sheath. I really like the sheath; it is well designed.
