Review: Excellent Value for decent quality Kona - I've purchased several brands of Kona here on desertcart as well as had friends bring some back to me from their vacation in Hawaii. I was hesitant to order this based on the cost, which was significantly less per pound than many other brands. When the beans arrived, they were not particularly oily, nor did they exude a super fresh aroma, but they were also not stale and overly dry. They were comparable to most brands I've received (and I've found that if you order the same Kona over and over, every bag varies in how fresh/oily/aromatic it is, even though it is the same beans, same company). Most importantly, the coffee tastes very good. It is easily comparable to brands costing twice as much. There isn't a brand on desertcart with multiple reviews where someone isn't complaining that the coffee doesn't taste like "real" Kona or the "Kona I remember..." etc.. I didn't grow up in Hawaii and I've only visited once, but I order a lot of Kona. These beans produce a cup of coffee or expresso the taste of which falls within the same flavor range as every other quality brand I've tried. It's not bitter, it has the characteristic Kona flavor. I'd probably go with 4 stars instead of 5, but the value makes this brand a very good deal.
