Review: Don't know what I would do without this product! - I purchased this Seche Vite top coat from desertcart about two - three months ago. I wanted to use it for awhile to give the best review possible. For starters. I used to have such problems with nail polish. I could literally paint my nails and sit for 30+ minutes and then THREE-FOUR HOURS later go to bed and wake up with sheet marks/imprints all over the place. Being a recovering perfectionist, it drove me nuts to spend all that time painting my nails to have it destroyed by smudges and nicks and you name it, even hours later. Who has that many hours to be careful with your nails? I constantly was touching something that destroyed my nails. This product truly fixes that problem. Within 15 minutes (sometimes less!) of painting my nails, it's dry and I can touch it and not worry. I can even go digging around in my purse. It looks pretty flawless with this glassy top coat. I no longer get sheet marks. I've changed my nail polish about every week and I'm able to do that because I can get it done in 20-30 minutes total with base coat, color coat, and this top coat without taking such a huge chunk of time. Now you do have to be realistic with yourself. If you impale a nail on something hard and metallic after painting it or something it still can leave some imprint, and showering or having your nails in hot water soon after will soften the polish and leave you vulnerable to dents and nicks. But that aside, you really can do just about anything without worrying too much within 15 minutes and by 20-30 you should be pretty solid for typically manicure destroying tasks (even dishes). Again be realistic, thin coats will dry better. If you gob on a ton of nail polish and a ton of the top coat it will take longer to set and you might goof them up and be disappointed. It holds up pretty well for a good week possibly more. And let me tell you my nails go through hell. I work retail and I'm constantly taking security sensor tags with pointy pins off clothing and grabbing handfuls of plastic sensors at night to put them away into our backstock. We also have hangers with metal clips (like for pants, skirts, etc) and again I have to go digging around in bins of those and am constantly banging and scratching up my nails. The top coat may get a little scratched on the surface but I haven't had ANY major chips or nicks and it's held up really well. One day I even felt my nails were starting to look scratched up and a customer complimented how great and shiny my nails looked (go figure). I've also had people ask me if I got one of those gel manicures professionally done! Nope, all this great little product. When I have to change it at the end of the week it's because of growout or because it's pulled away a little from the tips of my nails. One odd thing is that I have noticed by then end of one week, the nailpolish looks a tiny bit darker than when I first painted them so there might be an issue with discoloration. I also recommend making sure you get the sides of your nails. This product is thick and you'll have a visible ridge if you didn't quite cover the whole nail. It does set pretty quickly too so there is a little bit of an art to putting on enough so that you can cover the nail before it sets without globbing on so much that it won't dry, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. There is also a slight chemically smell to the product but I'm pretty sensitive to smell and it doesn't bother me because it fades quickly. I remember reading reviews about it getting overly thick, and I did purchase the restoring drops from seche vite but so far I haven't needed to use them. So it doesn't seem as big of an issue as some reviews would suggest. Overall the product is amazing and gives you flawless looking nails that and usable within such a short period of time. I have almost forgotten the days of sheet marks and horrible smudges and I get compliments all the time and I keep recommending it to all my friends. Review: Top Coat, I bow to you - I have been reading about this brand of topcoat for so long now. I do not know why I never bought it until recently. I think maybe the price had something to do with it. After all I thought it was just clear nail polish and I can get that at the dollar store. Am I glad that I finally took the plunge and bought a bottle. I am not what they call someone who spends a lot of time on "cuticle care" (Pitch Perfect reference *high5*) I keep my nail shorts because they tend to chip & break easily if I do not. I love nail polish colors, God knows I have plenty of them. Just recently I got my first "gel mani", boy, was I ever impressed. It was awesome. The color I chose was a beautiful green color that resembled something you'd see on a tropical island, it was so shiny and strong. I went swimming, playing in the sand, playing in the ocean, doing all kinds of outdoorsy stuff on my vacation, and not one chip was to be seen. In fact it was not until the 12th or 13th day that I noticed the color was coming off from the bottom up, noticed the top down. Which is what I like. Back to SECHE VITE DRY FAST TOP COAT: when I am not doing a gel manicure (which is always) I like my normal polish manicure (with a little bit of nail art on ring fingers to make me feel pretty) to last as long as humanly possible. Not only does this topcoat make my polish last days longer, it also makes my nails incredibly shiny, and it is helping them to grow stronger and longer. I am using a vitamin filled base coat to help my nails grow strong (Orly), I use a coat of this on top of the base coat, then I put my color , then I use this as my topcoat/quick dry, and I let it dry for about 20 minutes before I do anything. I have found that quick dry topcoats, quick dry sprays and drops, etc. Are not really quick dry at all. In fact when you try to use your nails too quickly after applying the quick dry topcoat, you will find smudges/ridges, and your nails become messy. I believe it helps the polish to dry a couple of minutes faster, but not immediately. The quick dry labeling lulls you into a false sense of security. I am sure many of us out there have used a quick dry product only to end up having to redo our nails. To wrap it up I think that this product is outstanding. I can see what all of the hype is about, and I'm still not sure whether it is worth the price, but I believe it is money well spent, for me anyways. I found that this product has done what it says it will do. Except for the quick dry thing. I believe it dries nails quicker, but not the quickest. Or completely. I like using this polish on top of my base coat. There are times when I want to go polish free, but I like to use the vitamin enriched base coat to strengthen and lengthen my brittle nails. This topcoat not only enhances the vitamin base coat it also adds a beautiful shine.

**Q: What is a "big 3 polish"?? Thanks in advance :)**
A: What are the Big 3 toxic chemicals? The chemicals they're talking about are Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde and Toluene. Seche Vite is not "Big 3-Free". It is free of formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate (DBP), but does contain toluene, a common solvent. It seems that some solvents and plasticizers used in Big 3-Free products are not compatible with the ingredients in / formulation of Seche Vite (Butter London brand in particular). Seche Vite was the first patented single procedure non-yellowing dry fast top coat for nail polish that dried and protected the underlying nail polish much faster and created a more durable shield than anything else on the market and even to this day. Here's the deal. This product is unique. It is meant to penetrate the layers underneath it, drying them all at once. In fact, the product bonds with the base and color layers, creating one strong coating. Hence its durable nature. Additionally, this top coat self-levels. This means ridges, small polishing gaffes, and shaky application is remedied by the product itself, as it creeps across the surface of the nail and settles evenly, every time. I paint my own nails and have for years. This is the hands-down-best-top-coat-EVER!!! I will honestly never buy anything else again (I do use the base coat as well). Hope this helps!!

**Q: Should you apply this to wet polish? And wouldnt it smudge the design?**
A: Why are people answering "no"??? YES, Seche Vite is unique in that it must be applied over WET polish to work. WET!! If it is used over dry polish (or other dry surfaces, whether base coat, top coat, or just your nail), it will end up peeling off and won't do its job. Seche Vite is also known for not smudging nail designs compared to other top coats.Definitely apply over wet polish. But I should say: you don't want your polish to be totally dripping wet so that the Seche Vite brush picks up globs of it or ruins the design. However, I usually just put my color on one hand or even on all 10 nails, and then follow them up with Seche Vite. At that point, the nails are still wet and tacky enough to work, but the design isn't super delicate.

**Q: Does this top coat leave a glossy shine to manicure and how long does the shine last?**
A: It does leave a glossy shine in my opinion. I used it about a week and a half ago and they're still shiny. I've been using this product for almost 10 years and I won't use anything else.

**Q: does this dry polish that doesnt dry fast? I bought polish from the dollar store and five below. I like them, but they literally take 45min to dry**
A: There is not a better top coat on the market. After applying your last coat of polish, wait 1-2 minutes then apply this topcoat as directed (meaning use a good amount at the base of your nail and pull it up) - it dries within five minutes. I have natural nails and I will reapply this topcoat on Day 3 of my manicure and I get another 3-4 days out of my manicure with no chipping.

Best top coat ever! Dries fast, goes on smooth. I’m buying another bottle and I’m not even finished with the first bottle. No smudging, protects the polish after painting. This stuff is awesome. I will paint my nails weekly because I’ve found what works and I don’t need to go to a nail salon. My nails look great!
