## Description

Veneer Softener is “ready to use” and has been specifically formulated to aid in flattening and making the raw veneer more flexible for better conformity and adhesion. It is extremely important to use Veneer Softener when working with burls, crotches, and curled veneers that are too dry and fragile.

Review: Amazing stuff! - First time user. I sprayed four sheets of 18” x 20” highly figured and very wrinkled walnut burl. I dried them per instructions on bottle using my 20 ton harbor freight workshop press. Perfectly flat and smooth. Bonded them to metal and wood surfaces easily with 3M 90 spray adhesive. Perfect. Flat and smooth needing only minor sanding.
Review: Works well - Veneer Softener did a good job softening 50+ year old veneer. It took several passes, but it got it flat and playable. The product is a bit costly but works.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: anyone bend guitar sides using this?**
A: I have tried this in side bending, and can’t definitively say that it helped. The bend was successful (Koa sides) but some staining occurred, which I was able to sand out. I have since bent Koa successfully without using this product with good results...sorry, not sure if that helps or not.

**Q: has anyone used this to bend veneer around a very small radius**
A: I had good results with an in-line with grain bend.  Of course cross grain bends are much easier.  I soaked the material several times with the softener prior to use and was satisfied with the results.

**Q: Need to flatten small pieces of burl wood 1/4" thick. Could I soak it in this and put in my weighted press for a week or so?**
A: This should work but the wood must be kept flat unitl fully dry. Be sure to soak both sides

**Q: Does this softener interfere with staining and finishing? Some mixtures leave deposits and block the stain from being absorbed with any uniformity.**
A: I have not used it with stain, but it does not interfere with shelac, Polyurathane, or lacquer.
