I got it primarily so I could charge both my iPhone and iPad at the same time, and it does that perfectly. Unfortunately, with the case I have on my iPad, I can't simply pop it on the second lightning connector in the back - there are two little rubber nubs on either side of the connector for the iPad to rest on when it's connected, and they're in the way when the case is on. So I either have to remove the case, or use a lightning cable and the USB port on the back of the clock in order to charge. It's a minor annoyance, but not that big of a deal for me. The case I have for my iPhone doesn't really come around the bottom, so it doesn't interfere at all.I love that I can set the alarm via the iHome app on my iPhone or iPad - it's more intuitive than having to fiddle with a bunch of buttons on an alarm clock. Also, the iHome app allows you to ensure that the time on the clock is always accurate - it syncs up to the time on your phone when you dock it.The sound quality is surprisingly good. Definitely better than I was expecting from an alarm clock - I actually use this as a true speaker dock when I'm doing work around the house, and it works nicely. Clear, loud sound, no distortion. It's not a super high-end speaker, obviously, but it definitely does the trick.All in all, this was a great purchase. It does everything I need it to do, and it does it all as well or better than I expected! I tried various 30-pin to Lightning adapters, even Apple's, but none of them worked correctly, so I bit the bullet and bought a new iHome.Pros:1. Has two Lightning connectors on top and a USB connector on the back. This takes care of my iPhone 5s and my older iPad2. I can plug the iPad into the back via a USB cable and it charges correctly and is controllable from the radio.2. Good sound.3. Smooth, silver top to make dusting easier. My older black iHome was a dust magnet.Cons:1. The control buttons on top are small and hard to see in the dark. They are not back-lit. So, when the alarm goes off in the morning, I have to fumble a bit to figure out which button to press. Eventually I'll learn the button positions, but my old iHome had much larger and easier to use buttons.2. No remote. Well, I never used the remote with my old iHome anyway.3. Clunky controls for the various ports. They made a Play/Pause button for each of the 3 charge/data ports. So, you have to understand which device is playing off of which port to push the right button to get it to play. I don't understand why they didn't just use one button. Surely the radio knows which device is active?4. A bit pricy. My old iHome was $99 and this was $147 for about the same functionality. But, I bought this because of the USB charge/data port on the back and this was the only iHome-type device I found that supported this. So, I was willing to pay the extra to get that added USB port.5. The Lightning connector is still too short to work with a phone with a case. You might be tempted by the triple charging feature (I was!) but the reality is you end up with nothing more than a clock. My experience started with my phone not fitting due to the case I had on - a very common one at that, so off came the phone case. Next the radio function gave up; I can have it for a split second, but then silence, so audio now became from phone or iPad only. Docking my phone to charge seemed to work well, until I awoke to find it had only charged to 46% - this happens frequently but only when using the dock (i.e. not a phone fault as can charge it elsewhere with no issue). After 2 months with this product it now sits on my bedside table as a clock only; no radio, no charge.
