Review: Nice In-wall amplifier - I purchased one of these to use in one of the Bathroom's in my house, so someone who was taking a shower could listen to their music list while showering or doing their makeup. The In-wall amplifier was super easy to install. I put in an extra deep electrical box, mounted the transformer in the rear of the box, added a switch to work a second pair of speakers, (Which I will probably add to the Kitchen, later), and was able to fit everything in the wall, with nothing interfering down the front of the wall or with the receptacle. I was so surprised at the amplifier, that I purchased a second one to install in one of my rooms where I have a tanning bed. The Amplifier is very strong. In the Bathroom I am only able to run it at 1/2 volume. It powers a Pyle 200 Watt dual channel waterproof speaker and the sound quality is much better than I expected. The "Bluetooth" connects every single time. I have not had a single glitch. When you power the unit on, there is a voice that says "power on" and then "your device is connected". I have 6 units, they all use the same name, but that isn't a problem, because they don't advertise unless you push the volume knob. After you pair each one, rename it on your phone, no need to rename on the receiver, the phone can tell them apart. So if you have previously paired to a phone, when you turn the unit on it will try to reconnect to its existing paired device. If you want to pair to a new device, press the volume knob while you are scanning for devices from your phone, then rename it in bluetooth settings on your phone after it is paired. The only time you are going to have an issue is if you press the volume knob on 2 devices at the same time, you wont know which is which, but since you probably cant be in 2 rooms at once to do that, shouldn't ever be an issue, and whichever one it pairs to, you can rename to distinguish which is which.. **Q: I don't want to plug this in and instead wish to hard wire this unit. Can someone provide a link to a 120V converter that I can use?** A: Hi sounds like you dont want to see the tranformer , with cable running down the wall. What I did with mine if you know about wiring electrical and things like that I cut the wire from my Transformer to the unit and I made it longer and I run a wire up into my attic where I have a light switch with a plug .plugged in the transformer ,made the wire longer so now it's a hard wire unit basically that's what it looks like because all you see is just the unit in the wall with the faceplate no wire sticking out of it and that's how I did mine don't know if you have access to your attic and if you have a light up there with an outlet but that will be the best way to have a clean job for it, hope this will help a bit, also to your question, this unit comes with a 120v to 12 volt dc converter **Q: How many speakers can you connect? Very easy to setup and connect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super cool with one strange design flaw *by J***Y on December 8, 2016* First let me say that I really love the functionality of this device. I use it in my remote cabin in Alaska. I have it installed in the wall, wired direct to my 12V solar batteries (with a fuse box and circuit breaker). This thing is powering 4 in-ceiling speakers and the sound is great. Bluetooth connection is quick, too. I also have the ability to put a microphone outside the cabin and feed nature sounds like birds or rain into the cabin using the 1/8th or 1/4 jack. Pretty cool! There is one big problem. When you wire this thing direct instead of using the external power supply/plug, the device doesn't shut off. Even if you click the volume knob all the way to the left in the off position, the light on the device will still be on. There will be no volume, but I'm pretty sure the device is still functioning 100%. The bluetooth light will even stay on. One would expect that no matter how you connect the power to this device, off is OFF. Right? In my situation, this device would potentially drain my solar batteries while I'm away from the cabin. To fix this issue I installed a main switch (which is good to have anyway) so that I can cut all power to this device or others using 12V. That solves the problem. When I leave the cabin I simply flip that main 12V switch off. I hope Pyle corrects this strange design flaw for future buyers. Even still, I've been really pleased with the cost, functionality, easy of mounting, and cool factor with this unit.
