I've used around 5 electric pre-shave products, and this one works the best, and significantly better than the rest. It softens the skin and raises the hairs for a closer shave and it works quickly. It also coats the skin with a protective layer. I use a Panasonic Arc 5 and shave immediately after getting out of the shower. It's almost unbelievable how well this works. The shave time is shortened by about 1 minute (the Arc 5 gives you the shave time) and the shave is so close that it's equivalent to if I shaved against the grain with a DE razor. The most important part is I have absolutely zero irritation. The ingredient that gives the protective layer really works. The only downside for me is the scent. I could do without it. As others have said, it's a cheap Axe type scent and it's really strong. The good thing is that you don't have to use much of this product for the shave. Also, I always wash my face after I shave to get any of the extra product off. I then slap on some aftershave and even after all that I can still smell the Freelette scent, but it's very subtle. I looked at this when it came in and thought, oh its a cream, not excited. It sat for a couple days without using it. I needed to shave today and I had a 3 day growth. I have never been able to shave with an electric with a 3 day growth. If I use Lectric Shave for years and am mostly happy. If I use it and shave everyday it does OK but when I tried with a 3 day growth, I always ended up using a razor to finish. I was going to use a razor today and thought I would give Freelette a try not expecting much.
