So I got this on a whim and hoped for the best. Here's a breakdownCost: for just under $20, I could find a better deal, and really couldn't find a local place to buy it at.Product: came well packaged, and the actual products packing was slick, and not ome cheesy looking type deal. The product itself is all black, so easy to go with any interior. Th gooseneck that comes off the base is very strong, could be a bit of a pain if your trying to move it from drivers view to passenger, but also a plus to reassure the owner its not cheap and doesnt feel like it'll go flopping anytime soon.The base itself has a release knob that let's you adjust the width of the edges to fit most any cup holder. I had to turn the knob to extend the width for the hummer, but once locked, it fits perfectly.My only real issue comes witht the actual holder for the device. It comes with two pairs of side clips to adjust to use bigger or smaller devices, and it supports the iPhone 4 awesomely, once you find the right setting. It's not a pressure system where you squeeze the grips around the device, there's actually three slots in the holder that you adjust the clips to to hold your device in place, this will all make sense once you have the thing in front of you. But the issue for me came with the fact I like to use mainly my iPod touch 3G for music when driving, and for those of you that own this product, will know, that the iPod touch 3G's plugin jack is located on the bottom right, not the top like most iPhones. And this entails a problem because the holder has two bottom pieces to add more support form your device, but in the case if the iPod touch 3G, the two pieces cover the headphone jack. But it was an easy fix, since the holder side grips hold your device in place fairly well on their on, there was no real need for those bottom supports, so I just flipped it around, exposed the headphone jack, and wallah was all squared away.This device is pretty neat looking, every friend I've had in the car comments on it, and a few plan or have gone and bought it already. The only draw backs, like forementioned, it may hinder access to certain device headphone jacks, and the biggest issue, which should be considered before purchasing is of course, you'll lose a cup holder space. For me, this wasn't a big issue, since I try to keep drinks and food in my car to a minimum, guess I'm just anal like that, lol. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid device, works perfectly for my application *by S***T on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on December 19, 2013* I bought this specifically to hold my iPhone 5S for use as a GPS device while in my work vehicle. The vehicle is a GMC Yukon and is an emergency vehicle, which means I am often driving fast, turning hard, braking quickly, and accelerating quickly. Driving much harder than you probably ever would in your personal vehicle, the mount has been rock solid.Here are the things I've found that have made this device 5 stars for me:1. It comes in and out of the car quickly. You spin a little knob at the base of the arm to either extend or retract arms in the cup holder base which then hold it very firmly in place. Once in place, it doesn't move, but can be easily taken out of the car in about 10 seconds by just giving a spin the other way.2. Very easily switches between landscape and portrait, clicking solidly into place for either orientation. Nice for GPS use.3. It holds the iPhone in place snuggly. Again, I probably drive harder than you do, and I've never been concerned that the iPhone was going to come loose.4. It's very easy to get the iPhone in and out of the holder, and you can do it easily with one hand. You hit a button just above the arms which hold the phone in place and they open up. To insert the phone, just sit it in the mount and squeeze the arms back together. I typically take the phone out to input the address, put it back in the mount, and then grab it back out when I jump out of the vehicle on the scene. I'm usually trying to move quickly and the mount helps me to do so. Again, this is all done one handed as I typically grab my radio with one hand and the phone with the other.5. Although I really only care that it works for my iPhone, the arms do extend rather far apart and I can't think of many phones (aside from possibly the Galaxy Note) that wouldn't fit in here just as well.6. There are two tabs that fold down at the bottom which hold your phone up. They're spaced so that you can connect the charging cable between them. The gap is certainly wide enough for the lightning cable, and also plenty wide for the old 30-pin cable.Only thing I'd say you should keep in mind is that the arm is very stiff. I see this as a plus since I don't want it moving on me once I've got it set. However, while it is adjustable, it's not going to adjust too far from what you see in the picture and it's something you're going to want to adjust once and then keep it there.I spent a while looking through reviews before I settled on this mount for my iPhone. I've found every suction cup mount I've ever tried to be worthless, especially in the cold, so they were out of the question. I also needed something that was easily removable from the vehicle every day but when installed, going to stay put. So, no need to waste any more time searching...go ahead and buy this! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good, but not perfect *by J***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ on October 8, 2012* This holds my iPhone 4S securely in or out of its flip case (with the flip folded behind or left dangling), and the buttons, headphone socket, speakers and sync cable are unobstructed. It also fits my 2g iPod Nano (in or out of case) - the flip down support does cover the sync and headphone sockets but the side grips hold it well enough to do without it.Once in place it feels solid with very little wobble, sitting between the gear stick and my left knee which is much lower than an air vent or windscreen mount. This is fine for music or answering the phone but not so good for satnav - you do have to fight the temptation to look down at the map instead of where you are going, but it's still better than steering with one hand, changing gear with the other, and holding an A-Z in a third.On my first attempt to fit it into my Focus Mk1 as I tightened the base up it tried to climb up out of the cupholder - the 'ears' on the rubber pads look like they should sit on the top of the cup hole not inside it and on the Focus the top of the hole is at an angle.
