It's the 3M double side that has the red colored tape backing. I used a razor blade to custom cut the tape to the entire bottom of the spoiler B4 install. Once it's "ON".....it's FN on there. I let the 3M tape cure/bake in the sun for the next two days. With the temp of the trunk deck cool to the touch, I put a small, thin bead of black colored silicone between the top of the trunk deck top & the spoiler. I didn't paint my spoiler. I liked it, as is, and it looks kick ass on my car. Zero buyers remorse. I'm happy I purchased this product. It's actually not even molded right for the trunk. Another thing is that the spoiler had no tape or hardware whatsoever in the box. I was forced to buy my own tape and hardware and figure out how to install it on my car. Can't believe this product.
