A: Best option for grass that tall is a brush saw attachment on a weed whacker. This is better for here and there brush as you treck through a forest.

**Q: What grade of steel is the blade?**
A: the description says tempered steel. it seems very strong to me!

**Q: Does it come sharpened?**
A: Yes. The machete is very sharp. Good for softer brush, cactus, agave. For thicker heavier branches you need the steel Tramontina machete.
