I've read many of Sid Simon's other self-analysis / self-help books and found them to be very helpful and frequently profound. His wisdom and insights into the issues we face are presented in a simple, down-to-earth manner and provide direct, usable strategies and reassurances to help us understand ourselves and others. I highly recommend Dr. Simon as a friend, mentor, and role model for anyone trying to cope with the challenges of this life.

I am a bit reluctant to read self help books but this jewel of a book shattered my bias.  I read it for the first time and, was so impressed, that I immediately read it again; now, it has a privileged place among my reference books.  If you are serious about bringing changes into your life, any changes, you ought to read this book.  The author is an experienced psychologist who brings method and thoroughness to the process of implementing change.  His prose is clear and the presentation of the material compelling.  I am grateful to Dr. Simon for writing this life-line of a book and consider myself fortunate of having come across it (this book that is).  You will not be disappointed with it.

I got stuck reading this book. I really detest books filled with case histories, and that's what this book is built around. So if you have no empathy for person number one in chapter one, you will become hostile to them by the time they crop up in the 4th and 5th chapter.I may go back to it. I may not. I'm looking to other inspiration to move forward.
