I believe the negative reviews involve split seams and lack of comfort. I suspect these may be due to people not understanding the correct inflation. When this is correctly inflated, it looks nearly flat! The item in the photo is way over-inflated. If you can't feel your butt just barely touching the chair underneath, the cushion may be over-inflated. You also don't want to drop a 200-lb butt abruptly onto this from 2 feet up; imagine what that would do to your cat.
