Its striking red stems and lush foliage make it a versatile and eye-catching addition to any garden or patio. ## Description Hydrangea plants are an extremely popular garden plant; easy to grow and resistant to most pests and diseases. They adapt to most garden and soil conditions, making them an ideal choice for shrub beds or garden borders. Vanille Fraise is an exceptional new variety that is the result of years of trials by breeders. This variety of hydrangeas boasts satin white flowers shaped into attractive cones that gradually transform into a wonderful strawberry shade and finally mature to a rich russet red. The erect red stems contrast beautifully with the eye-catching green leaves, forming a display that will add interest to any area of the garden or patio. Flowers from July until well into October, helping to prolong the season of colour in the garden.Plant out into its final position as soon as the weather allows. Water regularly until fully established. Hydrangeas are happiest in a sunny or semi-shaded position as long as there is adequate protection from cold, drying winds. Performs well in any non-alkaline, fertile, moist soil. Prune after flowering to improve the shape of the plant; prune the oldest stems to a few buds from ground level to encourage the production of larger flower heads.Caution: All parts of hydrangea are toxic and will upset the stomach if eaten. The foliage may also aggravate skin allergies.Position: sun or semi-shadeHeight: 2m (6ft) if left unprunedSpread: 2m (6ft) if left unpruned 2 x 8cm nursery potsImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Repot your plant in ericacious ( acidic) potting compost and it’ll grow on. Eventually you’ll get an abundance of leaves and flowers. Once it’s a couple of years old, you can plant it in the earth into the garden once it’s established. **Q: I haven't much space in my very small garden would they be ok in a big pot on patio?** A: I bought one earlier this year to grow in a pot on my patio, up to now it is flourishing and full of bud, I can’t see a problem with growing it in a pot, I have other hydrangeas that I have grown in pots for years and they do ok. **Q: When is the best time to plant it outdoors?** A: Hi when mine arrived it was just a little twig that was in January /February . I planted it in pot and put it outside in a sheltered position in the march . Lovely plant ,even bloomed ,just a couple of flowers in the first year . The flowers really are white and turn pink as they mature . Greatly admired C!! **Q: Hi i have never bought a plant this will be my first time i was wondering i am unable to plant them in the ground would they grow in a large pot?** A: this is my first time ordering i have planted some in pots and some in the soil both are doing well ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pot plant *by Z***R on 28 May 2026* Has started growing waiting for it to flower , not sure how long it takes ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Growth *by T***E on 15 March 2026* Expect these shrubs to arrive dormant and small, approximately 7 inches tall.
