The plastic base becomes warped due to engine heat and no longer allows the primer bulb to pump fuel. Then the engine will not start. This part solved my engine starting problem. So it got real annoying everytime someone had to stop me from mowing to tell me something. I read somewhere that this plate was more than likely the problem and after installing it, it cranks after a few pumps of the primer bulb.
