Unlike traditional sets with wider bowls and narrow pestles, HIC's Mushroom Mortar and Pestle features a closely fitted design, with smooth action and optimized grinding surface to help speed up food preparation and minimize effort. The mortar surrounds and hugs the pestle, offering a joystick-like action, for single-handed grinding. Quickly grind fresh ingredients, like cloves of garlic, herbs and spices, peppercorns or cinnamon, nuts, grains, and seeds, into a fine paste or powder. Make aromatic dry rubs, curry pastes, pesto's, nut butters, spreads, and so much more. Even use it as a pill crusher to pulverize harder-to-swallow pills! Essential tools for those practicing homeopathy, the art of healing through natural remedies, HIC's Mushroom Mortar and Pestle offers effortless preparation of herbal and homeopathic remedies. So easy to use. Simply place an item into the mortar bowl. Hold the pestle by the handle and, using a firm pressure, pivot and rock the pestle to grind the item into a paste or powder. Harder items, like peppercorns, may need the surface cracked before they can be ground. Firmly, but gently, tap the item with the pestle, then grind into the desired consistency. HIC's Mushroom Mortar and Pestle Set is made from solid Carrara marble to complement kitchen countertops and any home decor. Hand wash in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Hope this helps. **Q: is the interior smooth or grooved?** A: It is Grooved, which makes cleaning sometimes difficult , but nothing a good vinegar rinse wont get out. **Q: where is this made?** A: Either the webpage is wrong or manufacturer changed because I just bought this Aug 2022 and the box says made in china. I specifically purchased this mortar and pestle because it said it was made in Taiwan. Very disappointed. Would love to hear from seller. **Q: How deep is the inside of the mortar? Is it rough on the inside? Thanks!** A: It's about 2 inches deep and it is rough on the inside The tip of the pestle is also rough ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐ not Carrara marble-- box says made in Taiwan *by S***M on 24 March 2023* This is not made of Carrara marble.
