Eaton 913A561 Detroit Truetrac 8.8" 31 Spline Differential for Ford

Review: 2004 F-150, excellent upgrade, flawless on my application - Had this installed professionally along with Ford performance 3:73 gears. My truck has the 4.6 engine but came originally with 3:55 gears. Many years ago I installed 20" wheels with a stock tire size (not raised) but they were still 2" taller than the stock 17" wheel/tire combo. Of course that effected my RPM at speed but not much. I rarely tow trailers but on the highway it moved the engine out of the power band enough that the trans was down shifting a lot. With the slight gear ratio change it has made a huge difference, tows easy and my MPG has improved by almost 2 miles. Now, about this Trutrack, it is amazing, my driveline shop has installed a bunch of them and really likes them. It went in easily with minimum fuss at setup and is absolutely silent, of course a lot of that has to do with the excellent gear set. I now get good grip on loose or slippery terrain and it goes around tight corners with no noise, effort or tire chirp. Highly recommend!

A: Yes, I installed it in my 92 f150 without issue, the tone ring is a press fit.

A: Yes it will fit the Ford 8.8" in a 2005 F150

**Q: What kind of oil i use with this**
A: You would want to use the weight that is recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer which would be listed in your manual's specifications. But I would guess that 75W-90 is the standard weight gear oil for most applications. I use 75W-140 as I use my Tru-Trac for road racing and need more durability. I would suggest synthetic oil as it is more durable and requires fewer changes.

**Q: Will these fit a 2006 ford ranger fx4 4wd?**
A: This model is made to fit a Ford 8.8 inch axle. If you have that under your ranger, it will fit. Best bet is to go to the Eaton website and find the part number to fit your application, or look at your axle tag, door tag, or VIN number and see what axle you have.
