**Q: Will this split live oak - that is hard and knotted?**
A: No.  10 Tons is not much pressure when it comes to splitting oak.   I wasted my money on this thing.

**Q: How many Amps?**
A: Well, technically is uses 2 AMPS.  If you have two arms it uses 2 "Arm Manual Power" Units.

**Q: Can it split live oak?**
A: I know it can split live maple and live oak. The wood is stringy, but it can split them. I've split, Oak, Maple, Ash, Crocus, D. Fir, Alder, Hemlock. I haven't found a species yet it won't split. The size of the rounds could be a problem but with effort you can whittle them down with the splitter. We love this splitter so much, we bought a second one, because my wife took over the firewood splitting duties from me.
