Due to a great sale PLUS great coupon, it made it well worth my wile to get a 2nd unit. As a negative, this newer model is about an inch shorter than my original. The lower trinary arms that guide the degree of abduct / adduct of the legs of the tripod are a bit more loose or “sloppy.” For me if that becomes an issue, I can always place a small “sandbag” across them for added support. Neither point is a big deal for me. However, as a significant plus, the Camera holding unit is much more robust, and vertical than was its predecessor. This will finally allow me to use the bubble level with a degree of confidence. As a third bonus, the new camera holder offers 2 mounting options: for portrait or landscape (cell phone speaking).Update #1- Aug 27, 2021: coming up on 1-year, and the tripod is still holding up extremely well. It Has developed a slight “wear point” in the portion that holds the camera, which now takes a little bit of effort to make sure the camera is level. Aside from that – I couldn’t ask for better service from this item over the past year. It was, and is, well worth my investment.Original review: You do get what you pay for, but I am very satisfied with this tripod for my present needs. I use it to hold my phone for On-Line meetings and classes (fully collapsed and sitting on a desktop), and outdoors (fully extended) for when I cannot hold a selfie stick (aka "The Wand of "Narcissism") because I am moving around too much. I would not think I would trust it in any generous winds (light breeze, maybe). I am careful not to be too aggressive with unlocking/locking the legs, nor while pulling them out or pushing them back in. Same careful light touch used for the screw controls on the top holding portion of the unit. If I was going to be using this a lot, or while in a hurry, or was more aggressive with it, I would look for something more robust.
