I was skeptical about whether a video presentation could cover topics as well as a book but took a chance and ordered this product anyway. First let me say that this video trainer is MORE comprehensive than most books that I have. Kirt starts off with the basics to get a new user started and as you progress through the topics he gets as advanced as you care to go. Also, there is a table of contents that allows you to jump straight to what you want to learn. However, I recommend watching some of the basics. I considered myself to be knowledgeable about Microsoft Office products including Word. But after several minutes of watching the video trainer (even on the basic topics) I realized that there were much more efficient ways to accomplish many of the tasks that I had been performing for years. What I really love about this product is that Kirt shows you several ways to accomplish the same task. In many of the books that I have, one example is used with one static screen shot, and if something doesn't work exactly as displayed in the example, you are left wondering what to do next. Kirt is great about giving you a full description of how to accomplish each task and then showing you several different approaches so that you can decide which one is best for you. So you understand how to accomplish the task instead of just following a list of steps that may leave you lost if something goes wrong. The videos contain very detailed instructions and explanations, and there is an exhaustive index of topics, which is a real time-saver as you can directly go to the topics you would like to learn. There are quizzes too so you can test your knowledge right after watching the videos!As a paralegal, I have to use Microsoft Office, especially Word 2010, to prepare documents all the time at work.
