## Description

The PumpWorks shallow well jet pump from the makers of Red Lion products is ideal for small homes or cottages with one bathroom and wells down to 25-feet deep. This pump includes a factory pre-set 30/50 pressure switch producing up to 50 psi with automatic shut-off. 15/230 Volt motor is factory set for 230 Volts but can easily be changed to 115-Volts - follow the instructions in the owner's manual. Please ensure the voltage on the pump matches the power source voltage otherwise the pump will not operate at full power.

Review: The pump that won't die - Long story. I attached this pump to a pressure tank at my camp site. But it's not that simple. The pump is down inside a narrow pit to keep it under frost level. Unfortunately, the pit fills with water, so I also have a sump pump down there to keep the water level down. One time when I wasn't there, the power went out and the pit filled with water. I later arrived at camp to find the pump and tank upside down in the pit because they had flipped over during the flooding episode. I unplugged everything, got everything right side up, and dried out the pressure switch. I plugged it back in and hoped for the best. Miraculously, the pump fired right up. Fast forward about a year. The power went out again during the winter. Once again, the pump flipped over and floated to the top (I had no way of fastening it to the bottom), only this time the water forced the pump above the frost line where it froze solid in ice. In fact, the water in the pump froze and expanded to the point where it had split the pump casting in half. When I got there in spring, I saw what had happened, but didn't realize that the pump was split in half. I put the pump and tank right side up again, which was getting really old, and plugged it in. The pump just hummed, so I unplugged it. I had to remove the fan shroud and spray it with pb blaster and work the shaft with pliers to loosen it up. After I freed up the shaft, I plugged it in and it started pumping up the tank, but it was really loud because the bearings had rusted. It was then that I noticed the pump casting was leaking water out the side. I unplugged and went down in the pit to check and noticed the pump housing was split in two, with about a 3/8" gap on one side. I then plugged it back in, at which time the pump continued to scream in agony. Even so, it still pumped up the pressure in the tank to where it was used for spraying off my camper. I still have the pump and use it like that occasionally until I can get it replaced, though I recommend not doing what I do. If this pump can survive an ordeal like I put it through, then it should definitely be fine with a normal owner.
Review: Good pump - I get a lot of water in my house's sump pit, so a couple years ago decided to install a drip irrigation system with an irrigation pump to make use of the water, rather than just pumping it into the sewer system. My previous irrigation pump failed after about 2 years and 110k gallons (see my Goplus 1200W Shallow Well Pump review). I paid a little more for this pump so hopefully it will last longer, plus repair parts are available (unlike the Goplus pump). It does the job and is reasonably quiet - no complaints. So far it has pumped about 30k gallons since installation July-2017. 11/3/18 update: completed irrigation pumping for the season. The Red Lion pump continues to work perfectly, and now has pumped a total of around 65,000 gallons to irrigate my yard over the two seasons its been in service. 7/14/22 update - still working great for my irrigation system. The last couple years it has taken a couple attempts to get it started in spring - plug in for a few seconds, unplug for a few seconds, plug in again. I assume the shaft has become somewhat stuck over winter, but it does start up after just a couple cycles. 5/9/23 update - took multiple attempts to get it going this year. I plug it in, hear it struggling to start, then unplug it before it blows a fuse. I had about given up but tried it one more time and it started! Since it is sitting in water unused for about 6 months, I think something seizes up and it takes a while to break loose. Once started up, it works great. It has now been pumping water for over 6 years. 10/27/23 update - just turned it off for the winter season. It is still working great - has pump over 200k gallons since install in 2017. I plan to alleviate the spring startup issue (mentioned above) by starting it up every week over winter, just to break loose whatever makes it hard to start in spring. 5/14/24 update - started it about once a week over winter (just pumped water back into my sump pit for about 5 sec) and had no issues starting up this spring for my drip irrigation system. Still very happy with pump.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3 yrs total
*by A***Z on June 23, 2024*

Pump worked great and as of today still funchion, only issue so far after 3 yrs of usage for a house shallow well pump. Leak appears to have started in the turbin chamber small not a big deal but will have to replace seals.
