(Or ‘07, I guess but I doubt that) I was concerned about getting an old stock item but it was reasonably new. I ended up going with the 5009 because I liked the .64 OD and higher torque rating gave me some margin for safety with slicks. (Haven’t dyno’d it, but I think it should be ~400 hp, 430 to) Unfortunately my gearing is not well suited to combine the engine and transmission characteristics. 3.36 w/ 26” tires puts freeway speed in 5th gear just below the torque band and right in the middle of some horrid engine drone. I’ve been debating whether to try to address this by changing gears (not ideal because 3.36 is already short enough to fry the tires up to 3rd gear) or try kicking around with exhaust (lots of $) Everything you’ve read about these not being able to shift above 6000 rpm is true. This is not a race transmission, but it is gear for a powerful street car. Oh, one other thing. The trans was packed with a rubber plug in the back that would not come out in one piece.
