Will this work for that kind of application?** A: Yes, Tear Mender will work with this type of application, however be very careful when applying the adhesive as "less is more". Do NOT use too much and do NOT put the glue on the fabric from the bottle. Make a puddle of glue about the size of a nickel on a hard service and use your index finger as the applicator. Dip your finger in the adhesive and lightly apply to the underside of the lettering and the shirt itself, making sure to only apply to the area that needs to be glued. Tear Mender dries beige so you don't want it to applied any larger than the area that needs repaired. Tear Mender is non-toxic so it won't harm your skin and it will stretch with the material. Good luck! **Q: Lookin to plug a pin hole on a nylon down jacket. Not going to patch, just cover the hole. Anyone try this yet?** A: I suspect it would work, you'd have to fold the nylon over a little bit to make it cover the hole since the liquid is thin but this stuff works on pretty much everything. I patched my son's jeans and then decided to try to rip the patch off as a test (because the iron ons always peel off) and the jeans ripped around the edges of where the tear mender patch was. Basically - you're going to rip anything BUT the tear mender, you need this stuff. **Q: Use this to glue a patch on the theigh area of a pair of jeans?** A: I never tried using it for a patch, but I was disappointed using it to mend a tear. You would be better off using a patch with a glue backing that is meant for jeans and iron it on. **Q: I am repairing a crack in a vinyl purse. Mine and my hubs contractor pants. We're both very hard on jeans. It doesn't take much product. I've used it to patch, haven't tried it to do hems or anything. Very liquidy so be careful b c ones it's on something....its on something! Gets tacky kind of like rubber cement but holds very well! Washed the patched pants numerous times. So far my patches, which were the trial run, have been on for at least 4 or 6 months, with washing and drying. However, it dries a kinda transparent yellow color, like rubber cement. So where I put the patch inside the jean behind frays u can see the tint on the frayed threads and they look dirty. For us and dirty work it's no biggie but most people don't want the dirty looking spot. So make sure u only put the adhesive where there are 2 solid peices being joined. I did try it on thin nylon type pants of his, like the summer weight wrangler type and it's OK but thin material seems to show the adhesive marks and is a tad stiff where the glue is. Not like super glue hard. But a bit noticeable if it had been a larger patch.
