I take Water Aerobics 3 days a week, and often the instructor wants us to use those buoy thingies for extra resistance, the ones that you have to grip in your hands. I have arthritis in my hands, so I never have been able to use those without extreme pain. I thought about how to weights that will give the same resistance but don’t have to be gripped. I came across these on Amazon. They are PERFECT. They strap comfortably on my wrists, so no gripping! And they have pockets for the weights. I started out slowly, just adding one bar of weight at a time so that I wouldn’t damage any shoulder muscles. That worked beautifully! I am now up to the full weights, and have noticed that my exercise has increased in intensity and I am much stronger. I simply rinse them out and hang to dry between days. Especially that you can take out weights for when you first start and add them gradually. I started out with two weights in each wrist. I could feel my arms getting the extra workout, felt great! It added about 5-10 minutes onto my laps as it does slow you down a bit (I also bought the ankle weights and wore them at the same time). The only thing is that if you swim everyday like I do make sure you take them out of your bag and let them dry over night as they stay wet a long time.
