There is one tray dedicated just to rings and the other trays have a ton of room for bracelets, necklaces and pins. You absolutely should not count on this for travel - the trays don't stay together and it is bulky. This is made to sit on a countertop or a dresser and access your jewelry in one place. Overall, the storage is great, the construction is pretty good, and it holds a lot. Moving trays around is not super convenient. These are not meant for traveling due to their size, but are good for home use. The trays don't really fit "into" each other, they basically lay on top of each other. The lid fits on each one but you are only given one. I don't stack them so it's not a big deal that they don't fit into each other. You can adjust the sizes of the openings, but the way they came works for what I want. Also, the ring container is a little tight so some of the back of my rings don't really fit very good.
