Are the base station and sensor paired? If not paired, pair the base station and sensor. b.The distance between the sensor and the base station is too far, and the sensor signal may not be transmitted back to the base station (the working distance is 800 meters in an open environment and 400 meters in an obstructed environment) ● PIR Motion Sensor detects motion only part of the time. Set the PIR Motion Sensor Switch #2 to the high sensitivity setting. The PIR sensor detects the movements of heat sources. Please adjust the sensor eye with a horizontal angle to the engine of the car. ● The system is giving false alarms. Check for moving tree branches or insects in the sensor window and remove as necessary. PIR Motion Sensors can also be triggered by light shining directly (or reflected) into the sensor window. It is also possible that condensation has built up on the sensor. Wipe condensation from the PIR Motion sensor with a cotton swab. Detach the 4AA battery and let the sensor dry inside for a few hours, open to the air. The sensor should correct itself once dry. Will it detect movement through thick bushes?** A: No, it will not detect movement behind bushes. I think that the detector will need to be free of surrounding foliage to work. If it is placed in the bushes, then the alarm will go off when it is windy as the branches will move - so causing false alarms. I think it needs a clear area for maximum detection. **Q: How do I set the sensors onto 1234 numbers their all showing on line 1 I want them on the different lines so I know what one is going off ?** A: you open up the sensors there are two micro switches one for sensativity and the other for channel with 4 settings each channel flashes its respective red light on the house unit and plays one of 4 tunes the light is only lit for a very short time so getting to know which tune is which sensor is the way to go. **Q: Does it have to be taken off the fence to charge and how long does the unit unit hold tone charge?** A: You need a USB cable and a mains supply to charge it. So if you have them long enough you can leave it on the Fence. I have not recharged mine for 11months. My receiver in the house is connected to the mains, so the batteries are only for power loss backup. So I do not know how long the battery life would be if the receiver is not connected to the mains. These are well made and work well bits of kit. I use mine to alarm the entrance to my garage door. They only accept alkaline batteries. I have had a few sets of these transmitters and receivers at different times and they all have a large "P" on both the receivers and the transmitters I have bought them from different places and they have all been paired to the P channel so you might find they have already been programmed to a channel that you already are using. This is the information on the card that was in one of the transmitter and receiver packs: Pairing the receiver and sensor. Step 1. Plug in the receiver with an AC adapter or install four AAA batteries to turn on the receiver. Step 2. Press and hold the power button on the receiver until all four numbers flash red. Step 3. Choose one channel and turn on the sensor by plugging the battery wire into the connector. Step 4. The receiver will produce a unique tone based on the channel automatically. Step 5. The receiver and the sensor are now paired successfully. If you want to clear the pairing from the receiver and sensor please follow the steps are shown below. Step one unplug the USB cable or take the batteries out of the receiver. Step 2 first press and hold the power button on the plug in the USB cable or insert the battery back to the receiver. Step 3 the receiver is turned on and the red lights on the four digital channels are on and off in sequence. Step 4 the pairing memory is cleared successfully.
