I was getting little sunshine on most days, and I trusted that eating a salad each day would supply the necessary vitamin D for me. But, a healthy diet alone cannot supply enough of this important vitamin; a good supplement was needed. These little gel-caps do supply the missing vitamin. The caps are filled with saffron oil, which seems like an ideal source since Vitamin D3 is oil soluble and should be taken when eating something containing oils and fats. The capsules are about the size of a pea and easy to swallow. I started with two capsules each day, one at breakfast and one at supper. In a few days I noticed a difference in my energy level, with less tiredness--no need for a nap in the afternoon. Also, I was not getting drowsy in the early evenings. This effect has remained consistently. My blood level test shows vitamin D3 at normal levels now. I have since reduced to just the breakfast dose on days when I get some time outside in the sun.
