It is effective over sunscreen. **Q: Can the Mary Kay oil mattifier be used prior to applying "liquid foundation" or is it only meant to be used with a mineral foundation?** A: I apply facial moisturizer first. Then the oil mattifier. Last, I apply foundation. **Q: How long does this tube last?** A: I checked my order history....it has been anywhere from 3 to 6 months....summer is heavier use....a little does seem to go a long way for me.... I would say probably at least 2 to 3 months for normal use or if you need to repeat during the day. **Q: How long does your skin stay shine free? Also, does it absorb into your skin well? I.e. is there any white cast appearance or does it blend in well?** A: It blends fine but it didn't last very long. I have a pretty oily forehead and by mid morning I had to blot. I have oily skin to the point I will not leave out the house without applying it on my face. I also keep some in my handbag.If anyone does not give this product 5 starts it’s only because this product is not for their skin issue, and that does not mean this product doesn’t work.Everyone has different skin types, which makes us all different.I recommend this product to students with oily skin and coworkers. I would recommend this product to those with mildly oily skin who need just a little bit of mattifier. I have very oily skin and use oil free (as they claim) makeup product. I noticed that with this product, my face lasts only 2-3 hours before becoming oily. Reapplying doesn't make any difference at all. It also leaves with patches on the areas you apply it to so if you wanted to go out without makeup but needed the matte finish, that would not be possibly as it would look like you applied white powder to your face.
