I use them in reading/study lamps which are shielded on all sides but the bottom anyway so having all the leds in front is actually better. they seem well constructed. it was not difficult to get the front with the leds to line up where i wanted. the side housing is actually i thin metal and does get warm/hot probably as intended. they work well. there is a slight delay (about half a second) between flipping the power on and the leds turning on, so don't be surprised by that. i would rate these a solid investment.the seller 'yaho-mall' is in China, but I received mine in 1 week. literally. from china. screaming fast shipping. and they were well wrapped and arrived fully intact. im still waiting for other stuff I bought from the US around the same time. ### ⭐ Burned out in 8 months *by S***M on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2015* This product lasted only about 6 months before one of the LED's appears to have burned out (see lower left LED with char mark), rendering the entire unit useless.
