If the ENTIRE ear piece is a thin, straight piece, the Croakie may be too loose. If it widens at the end for comfort it probably will be fine. On my frames, it is NOT easy to slide the croakie over the wide end, but once on, they hold as you want them to. Without the croakie holding the glassed where they belong, I literally could NOT work. **Q: Heavy medical glasses will it hold them up** A: I wear very large Aviator style glasses, and the Croakies hold them with no problem. **Q: What makes these "XL"? Are they longer or is it that the opening is larger to accommodate a wider/thicker eyeglass temple** A: The strap is the same length as the standard but it is 1/4" wider, 1" rather 3/4". But the main difference and reason for getting the XL is that it will accept a larger frame. I look forward to wearing my Croakies into my 80s! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Keeps My Lenses Where They Need to Be *by S***D on October 19, 2014* I don't have anything to compare this to, but it decisively solved the problem of glasses sliding down my nose during humid weather. Pushing glasses back up isn't that big a deal, unless I'm using both hands for something else at the moment, like pushing a lawnmower or riding a bike, or unless I've already pushed my glasses back up a hundred times since I started my walk five minutes ago. The sleeves of the retainer slip on easily. I believe that part of the reason it works is by making the thin, slippery arms of glasses larger and less slippery, which helps to keep the lenses where they need to be in relation to eyeballs. I say this because I cinched my glasses on too tightly for comfort the first time, before discovering my glasses stay on perfectly well, for hiking at least, even when there's a bit of slack in the retainer. I've used them for a month so I can't comment on durability, but there are no apparent signs of deterioration so far.
