Didn't want to put holes in my walls or woodwork to install traditional curtain rods. Used traditional tension rods for my 6' wide double windows. They worked, but sagged in the middle. Style of windows did not allow for adhesive support hooks in the middle. Rods & curtain tended to fall if anyone brushed against them. Tried this shower curtain rod and it works great! Was easy to install and no sagging. Just bought 2 more for my other bedrooms. Wish I had bought these for my showers-may replace both old shower curtain rods this these as well. The setup was straight forward (twist things), they fit perfectly, their simple, but strong twist spring loaded tension was spot on, their rubber pads gripped well, having slight adjustments at either end was nice to have and they look decent for what I wanted. Once fully tightened down they are sturdy... you won't be able to hang from them yourself, but they will definitely hold the 1/4" water lines and even some hanging plants that I wanted around the parameter.
